Sleepwalking (2014) is a video achieved by deleting all the information of the opening credits of Douglas Sirk’s film Imitation of Life (1959). Frame by frame, title and names are painstakingly erased and seamlessly replaced with the image they where covering. In this way, a new film is achieved, independent from its original source. A new soundtrack also reinforces this transformation, creating a hypnotic dreamlike feeling. The film questions our desires for beauty, wealth and material values, also in relation to race and social class.
