Die Materialien für Visitors Forbidden stammen alle aus dem Blumengrossmarkt. Neben diesem zum Ausstellungsort und seine Alltagsnutzung schaffen die Botschaften auf den Schleifen Referenzen zur direkten Umgebung: von den existierenden Konfliktpotentialen ethnischer Minderheiten in Kreuzberg über die unmittelbare Nähe des Jüdischen Museums bis hin zur Vorstellung von Denkmal-Ehrungen. Die Sätze thematisieren kontroverse Aspekte von Integration und Assimilation, kultureller Selbsbehauptung und nationalistischer Abkapselung.
Die Verwendung von Textmaterial aus Filmen (hier aus „West Side Story“) ist typischer Bestandteil von Krippendorffs Arbeiten.

The materials used for Visitors Forbidden were all taken from the flower market in which the show took place. In addition to referring to the exhibitions’ space and its daily use, the messages on the ribbons also refer to the near environment: from the existing conflict potential of ethnic minorities in Kreuzberg to the immediate vicinity of the Jewish Museum and the idea of memorial monuments. The sentences express controversial aspects of integration and assimilation, cultural self-assirtment and nationalistic confinement. The use of text material from films (here from West Side Story) is a typical component of Krippendorff’s work.
